The latest job numbers are in and it’s not good for Tennesseans. The numbers show that Tennessee’s unemployment rate has jumped to 8 percent. Tennessee was one of only three states that saw an increase in the unemployment rate in April.

The 2013 Reorganization Convention concluded just before 11:00 a.m. this morning with all 50 Executive Committee positions filled. Immediately following the Convention, the Executive Committee convened a meeting per our by-laws and elected the following officers to a two year term:

1st Vice-Chair – Amanda Adams
2nd Vice-Chair – Sandra Brown
3rd Vice-Chair – Cliff Reuter
Secretary – Diane Wilde
Treasurer – John Sharpe

On Saturday April 13, 2013 the Wilson County Democratic Party will hold a county-wide convention to elect new officers.
The convention will take place at the UAW District Hall located at 151 Maddox-Simpsons Pkwy in Lebanon. The doors will open at 9:00 am and will close at 10:00 am for the convention and officers election to begin. NO ONE WILL BE ALLOWED IN AFTER 10:00 am.
Per Article VI, Section 1, part B of the Party’s Bylaws, all members of the Wilson County Democratic Party who are registered voters and who attest they are bona-fide Democrats by execution of an affidavit or affirmations to that effect are eligible to vote at the convention and to be candidates for the Executive Committee.
Per Article VIII, Section 2 of the same Bylaws, officers shall be elected by a simple majority of members of the Wilson County Executive Committee present at the meeting held immediately following the convention.
Please plan on attending, we need all Democrats in Wilson Co there to help shape the future of our party!
